JEWELL HUNTER

Co-Founder, Executive Director and Philanthropist

Jewell Hunter is the co-founder and executive director of Devyne Stephens Academy.  She brings over 25 years of experience in education specializing in curriculum development, instructional teaching, staff development and training; and consulting. 

 

She is highly skilled in providing emotional, social, physical and academic support for the growth and development of at-risk and underserved scholars.

Mrs. Hunter received her Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University.   

She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Clark Atlanta University, AP certifications in Language and Literature; she is GACE certified in Educational Leadership and K-12 English.  Additionally, she has served as an adjunct professor, a lead teacher, a high school teacher and an educational trainer. 

Prior to joining Devyne Stephens Academy, Mrs. Hunter was the founder and executive director of Camp Jewell House; a K-12 accredited private school located in Decatur, GA.
